Note April 5th in your calendars! With the support of the Transitions Action Coalition, Youth in Power and Algonquin College Perth Social Service work students are organizing “Looking Forward”, a forum open to the entire community. The forum will bring the community into contact with local businesses, non-profit organizations, community leaders and elected officials. In light of the challenges that Smiths Falls and Lanark County will face in the coming years, our goal is to provide an opportunity for the community to come together, share knowledge and exhibit local strengths, and to recognize and build the spirit of community. From encounters at tables, the inspiration of speakers, our panel of community and political leaders, and our action-oriented workshops, the intention is to lay the groundwork for positive change in the community. We can’t do that without you! Free lunch will be provided!
Looking Forward will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95, 7 Main Street East in Smiths Falls on April 5, 2008 from 9:30 am -3:30 pm. Email matt.donna@yahoo.ca for more information!
