Youth in Power is a youth based community action group dedicated to creating positive social impact by empowering youth to create solid fundamental change within oneself, community, and on a global scale.
Established in October 2007 by the Community Action Team and the Transitions Action Coalition, Youth in Power has received recognition for their efforts to raise awareness about barriers facing youth, while also giving back to the community. The Community Action Team is currently comprised of two Algonquin College Social Service Worker students. They have the responsibility of organizing events with the youth and facilitating the youth group meetings. The meetings take place once a week on Monday from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm
